Yeah, I was pretty disappointed that they went with Lyra. It just doesn't fit her, she looks like a girl who would have a kind of cutesy name like Katie, Melody, hell, even Susie or something would have been more fitting. I guess it's that "-ra" sound at the end of Lyra that makes me think of a more mature woman... I guess I blame Lara Croft, haa~

I think I'll get used to it. I kind of hope they pronounce it "LEE-ra", too (the unconventional pronunciation) since that sounds cuter than "LYE-ruh". But either way, the "Yuck" factor will pass.

It is a bummer they didn't go with Melody, but I heard that one of the reasons they didn't was because there would be 4 or 5 Melody characters in the series. I only remember 1 in the second movie and two guest characters from the anime, but apparently there's someone in one of the gamecube or wii games named Melody/Rhythmia(?)...

Hmm, they may ignore it all together I guess. I can't see any variation of Lyra pulling ti off...

I like Lyra, personally. ^^ It sounds upbeat, like Kotone.

Hmm, fair enough, just doesn't sound like a 'real' name though. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.
